New cervical cancer tests are on the way

WOMEN across Sunraysia are being urged to make sure they are up to date with their cervical screening and vaccinations during Cervical Cancer Awareness Week, which runs until Sunday.

From next month, cervical screening will change in Australia, with the Pap test being replaced with a new Cervical Screening Test every five years.

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, and the new Cervical Screening Test is expected to protect up to 30 per cent more women.
